Insurance Coverage & Payment Options

Our desire and goal is to provide you with a great experience when you come into our office. We not only want to work with you to enhance the quality of your smile, but we also want to be sure that you are still smiling after leaving our office. That’s why we accept most dental insurance plans and are preferred providers . We invite you to call our practice to get more information regarding your insurance benefits and to verify that your insurance is accepted in our practice.

We know that dental treatment can be expensive for many patients. For your convenience and peace of mind, we offer several payment plans.

You are welcome to speak with our practice coordinator or any member of our team if you have any questions about payment options or dental insurance coverage. We are happy to help you find the best possible option to fit your individual needs.

INSURANCE COVERAGE

WE WORK WITH MOST INSURANCES AS A PREFERRED PROVIDER.

We work with both Dental and Medical insurances and are well familiar with how to maximize your insurance coverage to minimize your out of pocket costs for your dental treatment. We do not like any surprises for our patients after the start or completion of the treatment. Thus, we will present to you our best estimate of treatment costs prior to the start of treatment. Once treatment has started, we will file a claim on your behalf as a courtesy to you.

We feel dental insurance can be a great benefit for many patients and want you to know that we will do everything we can to ensure that you get every benefit dollar you are entitled to. However, the treatment we recommend and fees we charge will always be based on your individual needs and wants, not your insurance coverage. To expedite your reimbursement of benefits, this office will provide you with verification of eligibility of benefits and claims submission as well as any follow-ups or appeals as needed on your behalf.

Please keep in mind your dental insurance is based upon a contract between your employer and the insurance company. Dental benefits can vary from plan to plan. We will help you to understand what you can expect from your carrier. Dental insurance never covers all your expenses, only a portion agreed to by the contract with your employer. Many routine dental services are not covered by insurance companies. This does not mean they aren’t necessary or appropriate, just not covered. We will help you to understand what coverage your employer has purchased for you. We ask you understand we do not work for the insurance companies; we work for you. We want to help you maximize your benefits, but we also do not want to be controlled by insurance companies nor the benefit packages they offer. Because we believe our responsibility is to you, we do not participate with insurance companies where the doctor – patient relationship is infringed upon by a third party.

We believe a cooperative effort between you and our office will result in a dental service we are proud to render, and you are pleased to receive. We want to meet your needs in a way that adds significant value to your life.

Insurance is a way to maintain health —- Not a way to obtain dentistry.

No one should avoid needed dental care just because he or she does not have dental insurance.

What you should know about your insurance:

  • The insurance company will do exactly what is written into its contract with you. No more than that.
  • They will not pay for what you need.
  • They will not pay for a procedure just because your dentist says it is necessary. Please read the fine print.
  • It is very important to read your policy to find out the specific.
  • Your dentists diagnose what you need not what the insurance dictates.

The concept of what is a “covered” procedure is not as straight forward as you may think. The procedure listed on the fee schedule with an amount that can be charged does not necessarily mean that this amount will be paid by the insurance company. It may be fully paid by the patient.

Why doesn’t your office accept my HMO, PPO plan?

Many patients often ask us this question. The decision of whether or not to accept a particular plan is based on financial and ethical considerations. In many instances, the plan’s contract does not provide high enough fees to justify the amount of time a dental office must spend for a procedure. Further, the restrictions in the contract prevent your dentist from giving his patient’s high quality standard of care and needs.

None of this means that the insurance company is wrong in its policies. It means that a practitioner has legitimate reasons for rejecting the terms set fourth in the contracts offered
